Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:......................... And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Work hard and work wise. It is important to be smart about how we work, we can work hard and not smart. A lot of us are very hard workers but as we work we use brute force and not wisdom. The hard worker is like a man given a task to dig 4 holes and fill them up. He digs the first hole and moves to the second spot, he digs the second hole and uses it to fill the first hole and continues this way. He has ended us working hard but not smartly.
What do we need to work with wisdom?
- Vision: We need to have a clear vision of where we are going, and this vision is needed very early. We must be clear in our mind about this vision
- Clarity of mind: We must be so clear in our mind about where we want our life to go. It is important to be determined about the things we do and how we do it. It is important to know what the environment we live in requires. As a Christian worker we must understand what we are dealing with and they are doing it.
- Understanding: It is important for us to understand the times, and apply the wisdom of God.
- Purpose: We must fulfill our purpose in life. Everyone of us was born with a purpose, we must identify what this purpose, understand the purpose, discover what we need to fulfill it and fulfill the purpose.
- The power of the Holy Spirit: To fulfill purpose we must have power. What power do we need? The power of that the holy spirit gives us. How do we have this power? We must be united and in one accord moving together toward the fulfillment of purpose. When the power of the holy spirit is on us, it gives us financial freedom, power of our minds, power over our body, dominion, power over our emotions.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Act 1:14 KJV. As we walk in the leading of the Holy Spirit we are to continue in prayer until that time of achieving goal has been reached. The Apostles had a common purpose and a common vision. The worked and waited to be equipped before they moved out. As Christians, it is important that even though we must work smart in the wisdom of the Spirit, we are to also equip ourselves with the necessary skills and power needed to succeed and fulfill purpose.
What is the tool for equipping ourselves? This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 KJV.
- We must speak the word into our life and the work we do
- We must meditate upon the word every time and everywhere
- Observation is key to success
- Do as the word says
The 4 points about is a key to "for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." The Christian success is not just any success. It is a "good success". Very different from just any ordinary success. Our success doesn't have sorrow attached to it. We would not have the need to look over our shoulder in fear or anticipation.
