And then…….. Fear God!

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. Malachi 4: 2-3 KJV

Fear not! Many people live in fear. People are just generally afraid. Why? Some it as a result of what has happened in their past, some are afraid because of what is happening in their present life, some are afraid because they don’t know what the future hold for them. The bible tells us not to be afraid, He asks us to not dwell in fear or on those things that make us afraid.

Psalm 30: 5 says that though weeping may endure through the night but joy comes in the morning. No matter what we go through in life there is always that period when the sun shall rise and shine in your life.

We have a father that cannot fail, why are you afraid? We have a father that lifts up and nobody can pull down, a father who can open a door and no one can close, a father who is all knowing and all seeing; why are you afraid? God makes a way where there is no way.

God alone can turn things around and make ways for us, therefore we need not live in fear. If we focus on God we will realize that God has and will continue to do great things for us and in our life. We don’t have any reason to live in fear; rather than give the enemy power over our life through our fears, let us fear God because it is He alone who can kill and no one can save.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. When we are afraid we cannot move forward because the fear we have will continue to hold us back and hold us down. The fear of God opens us up to doing things right and living right. When we fear God and have the reverence for Him that should go to Him then our life will be a testament.

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.  Psalm 128:1 & 2. KJV. When we fear God (and not the circumstances of our life) we will be blessed. God gives us the strength to see Him in everything we do and happens in our life.

It doesn’t matter what you are going through in life, it doesn’t matter what the past is. What matters most is that we give our reverence, respect and obedience to God who is Lord and father above all. Everything that we see and do is by the grace of God. It is by His grace that we sleep and wake up from our sleep, it is by His grace that we are able to speak see and do all those things that we do each day. Why then must we focus on the things going wrong around us?

What we must do is focus on God and on everything that He says to us through His word; it is only through this that we will have wisdom. It is this wisdom that He gives to those that fear Him which gives us dominion over every situation in life; whether past, present or the future.

Jesus is saying to you today; be not afraid for I am with you. Jesus Christ is with us every step of the way and in everything we do, at all times. We must recognize that He alone is the almighty God, Bigger than our pain and the situation we are in.

It is human to be afraid but when we allow that fear to rule our life and how we react to the things in our life, then we need to turn to God and give those fears to Him. He alone can overcome and bring relief from whatever is causing the fear in our hearts.

The Hunger for God

The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
Proverbs 16: 23 (KJV)

Text: Proverbs 16: 23 - 26

I want to ask us today to always think before we speak. It is important that we learn how to communicate, how to speak to one another. When there is strife and we don’t speak with one another then there will be chaos. It is important we talk to each other with decorum, with respect. The problem with a lot of us is that we carry a lot of things all the time.

Verse 24 says “kind words are easy to accept”. Kind words is a strategic key to good health. We should learn to be kind to people, to everyone we come in contact with. There are quiet a number of things that the holy spirit can do but then also there are a lot of things that we must also do.
Verse 25 says, “there is a way that seems good to us but it leads to death”. Many of the times people want their right to stand even though it may not be right. The way may seem right to you but then is it right to God? We need to learn to let go of things, let everything about self be diminish.
The wisdom of God is like foolishness to man. If God is asking us to do things then we must do it. Let us then ask that God give us the grace to tolerate people.

Verse 26 “the thought hunger keeps the worker working” As workers in the vine yard of God what are the things we are hungry for? What are the things that are driving you? Are you only hungry for the things of the flesh? Are you hungry for the things of God? Are you hungry for the things of the spirit?

God is looking for those who will put their heart in Him, those people who will hunger for those things after His heart. He is looking for you and for me. Remember His words, “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL other things will be added to you”.

Who is God?

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Daniel 11: 32 KJV

The background to this passage was the story of a young man called Daniel who was taken away in captivity into Babylon along with other children of Israel. Daniel lived through 4 kings (Nebuchadnezer, Belshazzar, Darius and Cyrus) and he was preferred above all the wise men by these same kings. Towards the end of his life Daniel saw the vision of the restoration of Israel to their land. He also saw the war between the king of the south and the king of the north. Daniel was encouraging the people not be anxious concerning that problems they see around the world but that a people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. The word "to know" is “Yada” in Hebrew. It means to have deep intimacy with the subject matter. To to perceive and see, find out and discern, ro know by experience, to understand, to acquire knowledge intimately of God.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6  KJV

Daniel was saying a people that know their God intimately can actually be strong and do exploit. The challenge of life is that most people don’t take enough time to know the subject and object they are pursuing after. A while back a young man came to me and said he wanted to pursue a musical career. I asked him a couple of questions
1.How will you succeed
2.Who are you modelling your career after?

He seem not to have an intimate knowledge of the career to know exactly what he was pursuing after and the environment. This also happens a lot in marriages and between married couples. Husband and wife fail to know themselves intimately, they do not have an indepth knowledge of each other. These causes friction and misunderstanding.

Some couples spend years in marriage and fail to be able to discern the character of their partner because they fail to take enough time of the other person. I tell you people that in courtship people behave well in courtship but in marriage they settle down. If you know your spouse or life partner very well then you can be strong together and do exploits. A lot of Christians fail to take time to know God. They rely solely on what the pastor says; hence they treat their pastor like God and will act only on what the pastor says.  People fail to know God for themselves.

Things about knowing God. Who or what is God?
  1. God created all things; there is nothing that was created that was not created by him. Man does not create anything; what man does is to add value or reshape what God has already created. God created Gold and man reshapes gold to make things from it. Chemistry and technology are revelational knowledge of God given to man proven over time e.g 2 parts of Hydrogen and 1 part of oxygen will give you water. This is a revelation of how God made water. Science is the revelation of knowledge from God to man.
  2. God is the owner of the universe. Nothing that we have belongs to God. Not even the clothes, shoes, house or cars we have belong to us. We are just hiring it for the period of time it is with us. When we die or lose them it will go into someone else’s keeping. Life goes round the circles. Everything that you own is not your own.
  3. God is who He was, who He is and who He will be forever more. The only thing you can do this wonderful day is to give your life to God. The “I am that I am”.

What makes a nation strong? pt 2

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.  Genesis 12:1-5 KJV

Most of the best things that happen in the world today was made by a Jew; technology, medicine, weapon, agriculture and lots more is a result of the involvement of the people of Israel.

Sometimes it takes a little bit of craziness to do the things of God.
Why are we celebrating Israel today? They are indeed a very strong nation. It is the only country that has the same name, located in the same land and speak the same language they spoke in the past. 22 percent of Nobel Prize winners are Jews. Approximately 1000 letters arrive in Jerusalem every year all addressed to God. Everything in the world revolves around this small peninsular called Israel.

What makes a nation strong? What makes a people strong? What makes it possible for you to overcome your enemies? What makes you strong enough to rise above the challenges of life? What the things the Jews have that has made them so strong?

  1. The bible says when you are chosen by God you shall be strong Jeremaiah 1: 4
  2. When you know God, believe His word, trust Him and follow him to the letter you become great and strong. Daniel 11:32; Galatians 3:6, 2 Chronicles 20:20, Joshua 1:8
  3. If you trust God you shall be strong and succeed Proverbs 3:5, Daniel 11: 32
  4. If you hold fast unto the Lord not letting go, you shall be strong.

Therefore, as a nation and as a people we can also be strong and great if we follow the example that God through his people has lid down for us. They are simple and easy and we need is to forget and let go of every other thing we think and focus on God alone. Hear God, believe Him, have faith in Him, trust Him and follow him completely and blindly.

Just like Abraham did when he was told to leave the familiar and the place and people he loved. It takes great insight and strength to leave the known for the unknown. Whatever we are passing through now it is up to us to make the choice of whether we want to remain where we are or we want to move forward into that person and nation that God had created us to be. A great people and a great nation that is blessing to other and a person that the whole world wants to bless and be affiliated with.

What makes a nation strong?

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.  Genesis 12:1-5 KJV

God had a conversation with a pagan who lived in the land of Ur of the Chaldeans. What God told him was to go the way that He would show him, a place that only God knew, that He (God) would lead him to a strange land he knew not but which would be given to his sons for an heritage. Every promise that God made to Abraham has all being fulfilled. Not only is Israel great, even Ishmael and his generations are great.

The Lord said to Abraham Gen 12:1 - Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee.

He was 75 years when he departed to the land God would show him; 70 being a year of perfection and 5 the years of grace. The people of Israel has been the most conquered place in the world. Their home had being the site of the greatest battles in the world.

Why does the world and we in particular celebrate Israel?

  1. Everyone of us takes our spiritual root from this same Israel
  2. We are the spiritual Israel
  3. It is fulfillment of prophesy. The bible tells us that the end shall come and the nation of Israel coming back together is the 4th sign of the end time
  4. Israel is our example of breaking free and breaking through into victory, freedom and perfect liberty.
  5. The land and people show us that if we stay with God we can rise above anything and everything

To be a realistic person you must believe in miracles. The people of Israel are examples of God’s miracles. In spite of being scattered all over the world, they never lost their heritage and what they stood for as a nation. They were able to recreate themselves and become great again.

The choice of greatness and strength is yours and yours alone. No one can make it for you and if people had their way they would prefer you remain where you are today so they can continue to overpower you. You can also become a force to be reckoned with today by doing what Abraham did; have faith and trust in God that He would take your to the place He promised.

The journey through Bethlehem

It is the beginning of the journey that we know and not the end. The word says when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, the 3 wise men took a journey. Life is a journey and every one on this earth is on a pilgrimage. Everything physical are things that are temporal. For a while you are here, the next you are somewhere else. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV

This means also that our relationships are temporal. Friends we make sometimes we do not see them for the next couple of decades. The same way all problems are temporal. It does not matter how great or how insurmountable they may seem, those problems have an expiration date. They shall pass away.

Life is a journey because where you are going is more important than where you are or where you are coming from. The Bible said that the wise men came from the east, it didn’t tell us where in the east they came from but it told us where they are going to. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matthew 6:22 KJV

A lot of people go through life looking backward, sideways but we do not go through life looking forward. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:2 KJV. We go through life thinking of pains, disappointment, mistakes, financial losses and challenges of the past and hang on to them. We find it difficult to move forward because we are holding on with both hands on the past and this makes it difficult for us to move forward.

Therefore we have lost focus not knowing that where we are going is better than where we are coming from. We need to set our goals, visions and what we want of life before us and move forward. We need to move forward with the the goals and vision that we have set for ourselves. Keep your focus on where you are going and ignore all distractions.

In the journey of life you must seek direction of that journey. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.Matthew 6:33 KJV. Arm yourself with wisdom. The reason why many of us have not moved forward it is because we have not sought direction. The wise men kept following the star and when the star was hidden they began to ask around to seek where the child would be born.

What kind of places to go for direction

  1. Go to Jesus and say Jesus how did you do it that you made the right decisions in life
  2. Go to the word of God. Those who succeeded in the word how did they do it
  3. Go to an elderly person who is finishing well, sit at the feat of that person and learn how they were able to succeed in life.

As we end 2017, set your eyes on the set goals and vision with a focus of single mindedness. Let Jesus be your guiding focus and you will see that everything will begin to work for your good!

Life is a privilege!

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.4  14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11: 13-16 KJV

A young man a few weeks ago woke up in the morning, got dressed and went out. He came back had a shower, changed and was home to relax after a hard day. But he didn’t live to see the end of the day. It is a privilege to be alive but a lot of us take this privilege for granted. If things are not working well for us we blame the circumstances or the people around us for the things happening in our life. It is nobody’s fault, but yourself. It boils down to our attitude to life. It is all about you and how we chose to react to and accept the things that happen in our life.

The Bible says the fore runners of faith believed God to the end. The earth is not your home and so we are to live our lives to count for the home we would spend eternity in. It is important for us to make sure that the life we live counts and is relevant.

You know what? When a person dies, those alive forgets about him/her. Even from the preparation of the funeral the forgetting begins because life is nothing and there is nothing in this life.

Whatever life you have let us use it well. Avoid all those things that would make you miss your way. Remove from you the spirit of arrogance, pride, lying and all other vices.

What you need is to “MAKE LIFE COUNT”. Set your priorities right. Serve God well and serve Him properly. If you are not interested in serving God, don’t bother, Serve God because He deserved to be served. Serve Him in spite of your pain, in spite of your suffering, in spite of whatever challenges you are going through.

It is important that that we take God serious if we want to take him serious. Go into communion with Him, be one with God.

Are you working hard or smart?

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:......................... And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1: 1-8

Work hard and work wise. It is important to be smart about how we work, we can work hard and not smart. A lot of us are very hard workers but as we work we use brute force and not wisdom. The hard worker is like a man given a task to dig 4 holes and fill them up. He digs the first hole and moves to the second spot, he digs the second hole and uses it to fill the first hole and continues this way. He has ended us working hard but not smartly.

What do we need to work with wisdom?

  1. Vision: We need to have a clear vision of where we are going, and this vision is needed very early. We must be clear in  our mind about this vision
  2. Clarity of mind: We must be so clear in our mind about where we want our life to go. It is important to be determined about the things we do and how we do it. It is important to know what the environment we live in requires. As a Christian worker we must understand what we are dealing with and they are doing it.
  3. Understanding: It is important for us to understand the times, and apply the wisdom of God.
  4. Purpose: We must fulfill our purpose in life. Everyone of us was born with a purpose, we must identify what this purpose, understand the purpose, discover what we need to fulfill it and fulfill the purpose.
  5. The power of the Holy Spirit: To fulfill purpose we must have power. What power do we need? The power of that the holy spirit gives us. How do we have this power? We must be united and in one accord moving together toward the fulfillment of purpose. When the power of the holy spirit is on us, it gives us financial freedom, power of our minds, power over our body, dominion, power over our emotions.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Act 1:14 KJV. As we walk in the leading of the Holy Spirit we are to continue in prayer until that time of achieving goal has been reached. The Apostles had a common purpose and a common vision. The worked and waited to be equipped before they moved out. As Christians, it is important that even though we must work smart in the wisdom of the Spirit, we are to also equip ourselves with the necessary skills and power needed to succeed and fulfill purpose.

What is the tool for equipping ourselves? This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 KJV.

  1. We must speak the word into our life and the work we do
  2. We must meditate upon the word every time and everywhere
  3. Observation is key to success
  4. Do as the word says
The 4 points about is a key to "for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." The Christian success is not just any success. It is a "good success". Very different from just any ordinary success. Our success doesn't have sorrow attached to it. We would not have the need to look over our shoulder in fear or anticipation.

This is where working wise and been equipped does to us. Why not check yourself today? Are you working hard or working smart?

Silencing the voice of strangers

"And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones."~ Isaiah 30:30

The word of God says that He will reduce the voice of the strangers. Who are the strangers in the life of the children of God? These are all those things that are contrary to the goodness and graciousness of God in the life of the children of God

The enemy challenges every prophesy of God in the lives of the children of God. After Jesus Christ got baptized and the voice of God confirmed who Christ is "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased", the enemy came up to challenge the son-ship. He tempted him by saying "if thou be the son of God".

The voice of the enemy is always there in the background to challenge every prophesy and promise that God has pronounced upon your life. However, as the child of God that we are, we must stand on our faith and trust in him alone who has pronounced the prophesy and promise. We must not allow ourselves to be distracted of moved. We must stand firmly and reply the enemy with the word of God in which there is power.

Like the example which Christ gave to us when the devil challenged his son-ship, Christ replied him with the word of God, because the power to silence the voice of the strangers in our life is in the word of God. If it is a situation it must have a name, and if it has a name it must answer to the name of Jesus Christ. John 1:1 says that in the beginning was the word and the word was God.

Christ is the word of God personified. Therefore the power of God in the life of man rest solely in Christ Jesus. What is power? Power is the ability to do. God has given us the power to do as seen in Genesis 1:28.

All strange voices that sounds in our lives or speaks against us, serves as a force in the lives of God's children. But the power of God will live up a standard against every strange voices in your life. Travel distance from a defined location to another is the same but travel time is not the same. The travel time is dependent on the power that works in us. Christ should always be the power that works in us, for at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

What is the purpose of power?

  1. The power to carry out the God's work or assignment for our life. Power is the fuel that enables us to get to complete our journey in life and do it effectively
  2. It takes power to overcome inertia.
  3. Power is to undo the works of the enemy. It is the enemy we can discern that we can disarm so we need the power to know the enemy so we can render it powerless
  4. The power to prosper Prov 10:22; 3 John 1:2

There are 4 ways God prospers His children
  1. God gives his people unusual favour
  2. By giving them wisdom Eccl 2:3 (ability to discern and understand seasons and trends)
  3. God gives knowledge to possess requisite problem solving skills that opens the door to prosperity
  4. By giving them joy. The power of God gives us the joy to smile and peace when we are faced with adversary.
4 ways to receive/generate power that silences the voices of the strangers
  1. To be a believer (born again)
  2. To be spirit filled, empowered with the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost expand the scope of your operation
  3. The word of God. Luke 5:17; Acts 10:44
  4. Through prayer James 5:16
"When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." Prov 16:7. This is the end of the matter; that a man's way must please God so that his enemies would be at peace with him. Pleasing God in every area of our life through a complete reliance and trust in Christ is the ultimate and greatest power  that is available to man.

The fear of the Lord

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverb 1:7"

One of the greatest challenges today is that people do not fear God. Because of this, they lack knowledge and so do not have the ability to live a fulfilled life.

What is this fear of the Lord? This is a general sense of respect, awe, reverence and submission to the Lord. This fears also makes us a friend of God and lover of the Lord that walks to reflect the nature of God.

People fear men, institutions, governments, their parents, even the things they can see but we do not fear God. We think that God is so far away that His control and words have no meaning. The word of God says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

The fear of the Lord gives us the ability to know and understand. This fear was very evident in the life of Christians in the days of old. Hence the reason why we have so many inventions made by Christians and Jews.

The fear of the Lord makes us have the hunger to serve him, in serving God He will do great and mighty things for us and in our life. The fear of the Lord makes us questions our moves and action. We begin to ask ourselves, 'will my actions please the Lord?'

David feared God but the day he sinned with Bathsheba trouble began in his life. The day we begin to not fear God and to disobey him, their is a change in our life and everything starts to go downhill.

Most of the sufferings in the life of man comes from a lack of the fear of God. We think we can do anything we like and get away with it. It seems we get away with sin and lack of fear because their is no swift retribution. But like God said to Abram in Genesis 15:16 "But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."

The Lord is waiting and expecting us to have a fear of him and not of men and what this life on earth can offer us or take away from us. The love He has for us is making him hold back the hands of retribution. But we must realize that once our iniquity is full things we cannot explain begins to happen in our life. Let us prevent the peace of God from departing from our life by having a fear of God.

For our good and that of our generations to come we need to fear the Lord. If you are going to be a Christians, be a Christian. The fear of the Lord is not a place of hardship but the start of a wonderful relationship. It's a relationship with a loving father that makes knowing him and living after His likeness an easy one.

The Power of God

And he said unto him, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us?” Exodus 33:16

The presence of God in the life of man is power and the existence of God is His power. God’s power is evident all around us. In everything we see and touch, everything we can feel. It is by His power alone that we are alive and standing here.

It was this power that changed the live of a poor man in the land of Israel during the reign of King David. As the ark of God was been accompanied back to the temple it shook and Uzzah thought to help so the ark doesn’t fall. The presence of God in the ark which could not abide sin gave an instant punishment. However, that same presence and power worked differently in the life of Obed Edom. When the ark was taken into his home instead of death it brought grace. Obed Edom enjoyed the grace that spoke for him and brought him before the king.

God’s power is found in the word and promises he has given to us. When we talk about the power of God; we talk about His presence and his grace that changes lives. The power of God removes from our life shame and fear. Which is why Paul said "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." For the power of is evident in the gospel of Christ.
How do we assess the power of God?
  • By prayer and fasting Matt 9:29
  • By exercising our faith (you can only work in faith when you walk in faith)
  • Studying and meditating upon his words Joshua 1:8
  • By serving in obedience and without complain
  • By been consistent in or walk with and work for God

When we work for God, He will give the ability to access and reflect His power and the reward that comes with been used as a vessel of His power. It is the power of God that works in us through Christ that will transform us from the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Wisdom for Life - The Secret Things

"These proverbs can even add to the knowledge of the wise and give guidance to the educated, so that they can understand the hidden meanings of proverbs and the problems that the wise raise." Prov 1:5-6 GNB

The book of proverb was written by King Solomon, the son of King David who was the friend of God. While David was about to meet his maker he imparted unto his son wisdom he had acquired over the years. He said to his son, "There would be a day that God would visit you and ask you for something. Whatever God asks give it to him. When God asks you to pick a thing, ask for wisdom to fulfill his will and to lead his people."

The words of God are a light to the wise men. They help you to understand the secrets of God.

The book of Proverbs is a book that is filled with sayings of wisdom and they are necessary for daily living because it helps us to:

  1. Know wisdom and instruction to perceive the words of understanding
  2. Receive the instruction of wisdom justice and discipline

  5. Understand the the secret sayings of life
The world is shrouded in secrets, hence the reason for so many secret associations, cults and places of meetings that seeks to impart the secrets of the world to their members. People seek out the secrets of the world and in their search for the secret things find themselves in places of darkness.

But there is a secret thing that brings light to those that find it. This secret thing belongs to the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belongs to us the children of God. The revelation of this secret thing is released to us when we become his children through acceptance of Christ as Saviour and Lord.  Which is why God said in Isaiah 45:3 "And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel."

However, God has kept the information that we seek in the secrecy of his words. God hides his things in secret for the following reasons.......
  1. For the wise to search for it
  2. So that there will be diligent seeking
  3. So that we will first of all fear God before seeking it
  4. So that we can appreciate the things we search for
  5. So that we become a friend to God
  6. Helps us to deepen our relationship with God (Psalm 42:7)
  7. Because secrets of God are precious and anyone who seeks it must deserve to find it
Secret things belong to God; wealth is not cheap. Anyone who has prospered, someone has paid for it. Therefore as children we must pay the price of knowing the secrets of God's word. The greatest relationship to open the doors of secret things of God is to been a friend of God.

Therefore as children of God it is left to us to search out those secret things. We must make it our sole responsibility to seek God's secret so that we may have that relationship that makes us a friend of God.
