What Links Law and Grace? Pt. 2
“But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to
silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a
lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the
great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two
commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22: 34 – 40 (KJV)
The truth of the matter is that the laws of God are for the benefit of man. There is no society living or dead that can exist or survive without laws; a set of instructions that people must obey for good communal and societal living. Including every home, there are certain laws; for example a law in my home is that my daughter must go to bed at 8pm. It’s a law and the little girl sometimes wants to stay up and watch Netflix and this and that. Most of the time when her mother is around she behaves. As soon as her mother is not around she sneaks up to my bed and begins to cajole me and pamper me; before I know it she is up till 12am. Then the mothers and there is war in the house. It’s a law of behaviour so that my daughter can go to bed on time and wake up on time to face school.
This is why we have laws. Every church has its own laws so that people can behave as they should behave. There is nothing wrong with having laws, having laws doesn’t necessarily defeat what is called grace.
Grace can only be effective when everybody knows exactly what to do and the have virtually perfect heart and mind.
Every nation has its constitutions and its laws; they are the laws of right behaviour and guide to interpersonal relationship. There is no quarrel between the law and grace. One perfects the other and the other protects one.
So, in Matthew 22 this is where I am going. The Pharisees asked Jesus Christ (because at that time the Pharisees did everything by the law and the law was so strong that it was even more important than God; so strong that God was secondary to the law); that is why when the lady was caught in adultery they brought her to Jesus Christ and they said “the law says we must stone this woman to death.” But they knew deep in their heart that there was an area and room for grace, a room for mercy but the law was so strong that they were hell-bent on stoning her to death. Jesus Christ said “no problem, I have no controversy with the law, I have no problem with the law, the law remains the law. But for there to be grace and mercy, anyone that has no sin, anyone that is clean of sin let him throw the first stone.”
So God brought grace to perfect the law, to make the law meaningful and sensible and not to bring about destruction. The Pharisees came to Jesus Christ and said; which of these laws is the most important one? Which of the laws is the most important one; which of the ten commandments is the most important one? Which one do you say that we must follow strictly. The Pharisees where trying to trap Jesus Christ because they wanted Him to put a weight and importance to everything unto the law so that they could say this is what Jesus said, He said this law is more important than the others so He must be in falsehood.” Jesus looked at them and said one law is important, the greatest of all; “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. This indeed is the first and the great commandment.

What Links Law and Grace Pt. 1
God has always given man His laws. From the first moment that God came in contact with man, He gave him set of laws and a set of instructions. Genesis 1:28, the bible says that God blessed Adam and Eve; and God said to them “be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over every living thing”.
Then in Genesis 2:15 God said, “I command you of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shall not eat thereof lest you surely die.”
God has always given man laws. These days there is a dispute sometimes in church between the law and grace. A lot of people who are preaching grace especially almost dispute, disregard and have no interest in the law. They say it is old testament and now we are in the period of grace; once you give your life to Jesus Christ and you are born again, the law has no effect on you.
The truth of the matter is that God has always given man laws and the laws are important. In Genesis chapter 9: 1-13, after the flood God gave Noah and his sons another set of laws.
The only time that laws can be irrelevant is when you have a perfect world. A perfect world where everybody knows exactly what to do at the right time.
God said to Noah and his sons, “be fruitful, multiply”; the same thing He said to Adam and Eve. Then He said to them in verse 8, “I will establish my covenant with you and with your seed after you and with every living creature that is with you. This is a token of the covenant, and He made a rainbow across the sky and says this is a token of my covenant and my laws".
In Genesis 17: 9 – 14 God gave laws to Abraham and this time around the token of that covenant was the circumcision of the male organ. You shall circumcise the flesh if your foreskin, it shall be a token of covenant between me and you; all that is eight years old shall be circumcised, every young man in your generation.
In Exodus 20: 1 – 17, God gave what is now famously known as the Ten Commandment. It is the famous ‘Ten Commandments’ that Moses went on the mountain to receive, he spent 40 days and nights there without food or water; fasting.
The truth of the matter is that God gave Moses on that mountain over a 1,000 precepts and instructions. There were the laws on health, the laws on dressing, the laws on eating, the laws on social relationship, the laws of business, the laws on servant and master relationship, the laws of marriage and every single thing. But the summary of those laws at that time was the ten commandment. He says “I am the Lord your God who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of bondage.
Law number one. You shall have no other God before me.
Law number 2 says “You shall not worship Idols”
Law number 3, “You will not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain”.
Law number 4, “remember the Sabbath day (which is Friday night to Saturday morning) keep it holy; six days you will labour but on the Sabbath day you will rest.”
Law 5 says “honour your father and mother that you may live long on the earth.”
Law 6 says “thou shall not kill”.
Law 7, “you will not commit adultery”.
Law 8: “You will not steal”.
Law 9: “you will not bear false witness, that is you will not tell lies.”
Law 10: You will not covet (you will not be greedy; you will not be jealous) your neighbour’s house.

What makes a people great? Pt. 2
And thou shalt love the LORD thy
God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee
forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Deuteronomy 6: 5
& 12 KJV
What makes a
people great? How are you going to make sure you are great in your own right
and sustain it? How are you going to make sure that your children are great and
live a life of greatness?
What makes
it possible for a man to boast about 6 million people? What makes USA, United
Kingdom, Singapore great? A lot of this nations were not great initially but
over time they have achieved greatness.
1.
A united people with a common vision, one voice
and a common goal
2.
A people must agree on their understanding and
their basis for religious service. An agreement to believe in a common deity.
USA – in God we trust; Singapore – no deity; Israel – Jehovah; United Kingdom –
Christianity; these nations were built upon one common agreement in religious
service.
3.
A nation that is going to be great must be teachable,
educated and knowledgeable; its people must be exposed to the knowledge to be
great
4.
A great people with a great heart that think
beyond themselves; who care for other people, who love their neighbor more than
themselves.
5.
A great nation is made up of people with a
willingness to work hard to use to the best of our abilities the favours and
gifts we have been endowed with by God.
Nigeria was
a nation designed to fail. The leaders where given a plan that would not work.
But Nigeria can be great! Coming together to one people and the nation is
greater than the people living in Nigeria.
A great
nation is built upon a common goal. The great countries, china, United Kingdom,
United States of America, Singapore are nations that have a common voice; one
that is greater as a unit than the people.
There is no
feeling of nationality, togetherness and living as one in Nigeria. We still
think as individual tribes, language, culture instead of as a nation. Moses
said, “Hear o Israel”; In Israel it was the nation first before the tribes.
Unless we
can get rid of those things that separate us, we will continue to be ruled by
the leaders that will keep separating us.
This is why
Moses said, “Hear O Israel”. God spoke to one man – Abraham in Genesis 12 verse
1. God spoke to him and said, I will make of thee a great nation.
Everywhere
we have great nations, its people have agreed to have one believe and to be
united in their belief. What are you going to leave behind to make sure your
children are enlightened?
Righteousness
exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14: 34 (NKJV). If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear. 2 Chronicles
7: 14 (KJV).
Lands cannot
be healed and in peace if we do not agree on a common goal. This is why the
bible says to not be unequally yoked.

What makes a people great? Pt. 1
And thou shalt love the LORD thy
God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee
forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Deuteronomy 6: 5
& 12 KJV
Text: Deuteronomy
6: 4 – 12
What makes a
nation great? What makes a people great? What makes a nation great again? A lot
of us will look at me and say, What is my own concern with the nation? But the
truth of the matter is that if you don’t sort out the nation you will find it
out to sort out yourself. The second is that you yourself are a nation and are
not independent or separate from the people in your nation.
Recently I
visited my home town – Oke Igbo here in Nigeria. As I drove through the town to
visit the traditional leaders, I was surprised to see how much the town had
grown over the years. Yesterday on my visit to my hometown, I began to ruminate
on the thoughts “what makes a people/nation great?”
Deuteronomy
6: 4 says Nationalism starts from the heart. This words which I have shown you
or said to you; you shall put it in your heart; teach it to your children; talk
of them when you walk, sit down and lie down. Every single time in your life
you shall talk of them as a nation, you shall think as a nation. You will fear
God and serve Him.
What makes a
nation great? A lot of disgruntled people in Nigeria especially due to the lack
of infrastructure, amenities blame the lack of greatness to a deficiency in the
leadership. However, what makes a nation great is the collective effort of the
people. Moses spoke to the people of Israel and not a selected few about what
will make the nation great. One of the challenges of Nigeria today is that we
have not been able to speak to ourselves and agree on what makes Nigeria great.
A lot of us
do not go back to the beginning to see what has resulted in bringing about the
tension that exists in Nigeria. Before the year 1914 there was nothing like
Nigeria, what you have was a collection of different states and establishment
and they were all great people in their rights.
Even till
today when you go to an Israeli house you will find inscription on their door
post. When you see them you see them doing those things Moses commanded them
over thousands of years ago.
We keep
fighting and arguing and bothering ourselves that Nigeria is not doing well. We
keep talking and talking and many at times we blame our leaders. But a man
cannot give what he does not have.

What makes a nation great? Part 2. Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the
land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to
give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,…. Then beware lest
thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from
the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and
shalt swear by his name.
Deuteronomy 6: 10, 12 & 13 KJV
If everybody in Nigeria went through life with the fear of God; acting and living every day with the knowledge that there is a God that sees all we do and will judge us accordingly, then we will fear God. Before we take any action, we should first make an enquiry on what God’s position will be with the action we are about to take.
A committed people who have a desire to be great are also responsible for the greatness that we seek for the nation. Before the leaders can be good, the people themselves must be good.
In Nigeria we need a
- Reorientation of our mind
- People that think beyond themselves
- An educated people
- People with a mind for greatness
People are destroyed not because of poverty or wealth but because of a lack of knowledge. The lack or limited education is a ploy that keeps people in darkness.
When God said to the children of Israel that He would bring them out of bondage to a land flowing with milk and honey; He was speaking of two things
- Milk of wisdom at an early age. God was saying to the children of Israel at the early age of their nation He would give them the heavenly knowledge and information that would strengthen them for greatness
- Honey is something that the bee creates that provides sweetness, healing and productivity. The Lord was saying that He will give them therapeutic ability to create things. They will be able to turn raw materials into goods.
China has been able to harvest the honey of their nation and Nigeria can do this at a greater level.
The problem with Nigeria is instead of fighting a common enemy, we are fighting each other. Our enemy is not our fellow Nigerian; it is not the man from another tribe. Our enemies are the people restricting us from living as one, the people that have enslaved us mentally.
Nigeria needs people/citizens with a unity of mind and purpose. A coming together of people with a common vision.
Total obedience to the will of God, a righteous people. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7: 14 KJV.
Righteousness must begin with you. You must not bribe people nor insist on being bribed. You must teach your children to live right. You must not go being wicked to other people. You must not go raising dust all over the place.
We need to empower people. We need to have a true Christian church that fears god. We need to have a people that has the right mind. You need to be the change that you require.

What makes a nation great? Part 1.
When God was going to create the country Israel, He spoke to one man. When God wanted to create the human race, He created one man. He then gave him a command to go and replenish the earth.
God spoke to Abraham, “Get thee out of your father’s house and I will make of thee a great nation. I will bless you, make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you and in you every nation will be blessed”.
Greatness is made. It goes through a process of manufacture and not automation. The church doesn’t know this. The church has become a place where people are being told they do not need to do anything but can expect wealth. God is not a magician; he will not do the things man is supposed to do.
If we do what we are supposed to do, then He will do what He alone can do. Greatness is made and not created. One of the challenges in the world today is that you see a lot of people grumbling and complaining about the world, the country or their home. Things will not change unless we make the move. It is God that makes a nation great but man must do the things he need to do for the nation to become great.
God made the nation of Israel and as a young nation He spoke to them in Deuteronomy 6: 7 – 15.
What makes a nation great?
- The love of God; the fear of God and a respect to human kind
- A committed people ready to build the nation
- United people with a common vision
One of the challenges in Nigeria today is that there is no respect for who God is. The primary point of division in our nation today is the issue of religion. We do not know who is the one true God. If we love God and fear HIM, we will respect man. Even in church people don’t fear God; you find people in church doing all sort of things against the law and commands of God.

How to maximize your vision of 2020 ~ Minister Grace Ikani
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV).
What is the measure as Christians for this vision 2020? It is Jesus
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
If our eyes are fixed on Jesus, we know that result is on solution. That is why everything is achievable when our focus is Christ. If we put our trust on Jesus on not doubt then excellence is ours this year.
How can we maximize 2020
- Fix your eyes on God. Psalm 16:11
- Have a family alter
- Be intentionally at peace
- Invest in yourself
- Meditate on the word of God this year
- Never live the life of another person
- We must recognize our value and add more value to ourselves. We need to love ourselves this year.
- Create your vision board for the year; the first being God and the Last a check on how we are pleasing God
- No man can help you except it is in the hand of God
- Be accountable to your life and your money
- Pray and commit all unto God
- Live with integrity
- Trust God to deliver in His own way
What do we get?
- Fulness of Joy.
- New ways open to us
- Peace is ours
- As you love yourself, people will love you
- We are able to actualize our vision
Do not depend on the food of your rival to give yourself food. ~Anonnymous
It is important that we learn from others; be teachable and ready to learn everyday of your life.

Who is the light of God? ~ Minister Ayo Ademilua
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. John 1: 1-2. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:3 (KJV)
Text: John 1: 1-18
From the beginning of the world God created man to have dominion. When God said “let there be”, it was His word. The other thing God has given us is His word. All things were made by the word of God. When we are not an overcomer, it means our life is without form; it is void.
Who is the word? Who is the light? Jesus is the word and light of God. When we give Jesus our life we are filled up with the light of God. When your life is without the word of God it is filled with darkness and it becomes a fertile ground for those things that grow in darkness, which is the evil of the world. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1: 12 (KJV).
Do you believe the name of Jesus can save from the charms of evil? Do you believe that Jesus can save? That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Ephesians 1: 17 (KJV). What are the things that God has given those that believe and accept Christ in their life?
- Spirit of His wisdom
- Revelation of his knowledge
- Light of our understanding be enlightened
- Hope of his calling
- Riches of the glory of His inheritance
The sons of Issachar had the understanding of the times, they had understanding. The revelation in the knowledge of God will bless us if we have it. The entrance into the word of God gives light and understanding.
Why is testimony very important in church? They sow seeds of hope! When men hear, they say you did it for this person and I believe you will do it for me! The Lord has done it for you so that you can become a point of reference for Him and for His words.
There are some people that wealth cannot buy you freedom from; principalities, powers, rulers of darkness in high places. If there is no light in your life, they snap you up like a piece of meat. What can free us from this people? Having the light and life of God in our life. Don’t let the enemy take Jesus from you. Once you let them take Jesus from you, your life becomes like a barren field.
It is a cold kitchen that fowls lay their eggs in ~ Yoruba saying
While men slept the enemy came and sowed chaff among the wheat ~ Bible
Let your life be hot this year. Fill your life with the word and light of God. Seek the Lord where He may be found. Look for Him when you are alive. That you have the ability to come and pray is because you are hale and hearty.
In the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy!
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5: 12(KJV). We should have a personal experience of God, a personal relationship with God. Whatever it is that will take heaven from you, do away with it.

2020: A year without regrets ~ Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. Genesis 19: 30-32 KJV
Genesis 19: 30 – 38
We have almost a crisis in this country and a lot of people are not aware of it. This country has some of the most productive resources than can be found anywhere in the world. We have a serious, looming problem in this country and it is time for us to act and make this year 2020 going forward we begin to think differently as Christians. We must realize we have power which we must use to make the nation great and a success. Don’t say it doesn’t concern you, don’t lose your right as a people.
The bible us in the book of Genesis 19 reading from verse 30 of a man called Lot. Lot was the nephew of Abraham and he had only 2 daughters.
The 2 daughter had intercourse with their father and each had a son, the first –Moab and the second Ammon. These children both became a kingdom their rights. The first problem that the Jews had with the Isrealites was when they were leaving Egypt was 500 years after the birth of Moab in Genesis 19.
That piece of land called Israel was originally the land of Canaan; it belonged to the progenitors of Lot and Ishmael. But the intent of God was that the land was reserved for the Jews.
Abraham and his people had to fight on a daily basis to have and live in the land. This is why we continue to fight in the spiritual to occupy the land that God has given to us.
Therefore, I have these things to say;
- In life we cannot to make a mistake. One simple mistake can throw you off the normal course of your life, it can have repercussion for life and until eternity.
- The issues of sex, intercourse and premarital sex affects the course of a person’s life. It can change the course of your life for all time.
This year 2020 is not the year to make any mistakes. You cannot afford to make any mistake that will send you back or change the course of your life.
Have you made a mistake that has changed the course of your life? Turn to God and ask Him for mercy that will repair your past to change the present so that your future will be successful.
Some people have already started 2020 with mistakes, wrong choices and taking the wrong steps. If you find yourself in this position; look back and correct it by seeking Christ.
The forth things that affects man is the mistakes that we make. Mistakes are extremely costly. It has been proven that 1 mistake in a person’s life can take about 10-20 years to resolve. What we have read in Genesis 19: 30-38 tells us that some mistakes can have effects that spans generations.
- He married the wrong woman
- He was indecisive person
- He was willing to give his daughters out to men
- He was a lazy man not ready to apply himself the way he should have
- He was a bit of a greedy person
- He was a bit of disrespectful person. When Abraham gave him the option of choice he should have deferred to his uncle
- Which is the greatest mistake, he did not hear from God before he made his choices
He made the 8 mistakes that ended up being the first man to commit incest in the bible. Every product of disobedience to the words of God results in mistakes that have lasting effects on our life and that of generations to come.
Seeing clearly into the future. ~ Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the
land of Egypt, saying, This month shall
be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Exo 12: 1-2 KJV
2020 in scientific terms says perfect vision; the ability to see well. The ophthalmologist says you have 2020 vision; this means both eyes see perfectly. The ability to see perfectly is what we need to succeed in life.
There are things that makes life difficult. One of those things are the seeming circumstances of our birth. This may affect how the future is for us. For example, the tells of the man that was born blind; and if he had remained in his circumstances he may not prosper.
Some of us have been limited because of our circumstance. If we limit our life to the thinking of our circumstances, then we may not rise beyond what the situation of the life allows.
Gideon was limited by the circumstances of his birth. Due to this limitation when God asked him to lead His people, he could not see beyond the circumstances of his birth. The circumstances by which we are born can limit us if we allow it to do so.
The second thing that can make life difficult for a person is the attack of the enemy. The enemy is real and can come from anywhere in our life. Joseph enemies were his brothers who were angry because of his dreams.
I speak into your life that anyone anywhere that seeks to attack you for no reason will be faced by God. One of the things we should know is that we are not a mistake. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. No weapon formed against us shall prosper and any tongue that rises against you shall fall for your sake.
If you can think it through you can make it work!
Changes in life is the third thing that can work against your destiny. Things that are called Acts of God. Things like natural disasters that tend to pull you down. The truth of the matter is that everything that happens to you God has determined that it is designed to promote you. Psalm 91 tells us God has given His angels charge over us.
Pray and ask God that; “Father, whatever mistakes I made in 2019 will not follow me into 2020!” Speak to your feet, “this my feet will not go into the wrong place; they will not take me to a place of error, to the wrong house, to the wrong people”
Speak to your hands, “this my hands will not hold the wrong person, will not do the things they are not supposed to do” Speak to your eyes; “this my eyes you shall not see evil, you shall see clearly and see into the future”. You shall say that this my brain shall not lead me to a place of destruction, you will think well and think right. This my mouth shall not speak the wrong things, shall not kiss the wrong people. I speak to you all parts of my body, I command you to be under the anointing and unction of Jesus Christ.
Pray that any mistake in 2020 wanting to destroy my life in this year get out of my life this year. You have to pray because prayer is the master key that Christ has given to us all.

Crossing over into a new year (Series) 3 ~ Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2: 10 KJV
What will make the year 2020 happy?
What are the things that we need to do?
- Have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in 2020 within the context of God’s purpose for your life. Where there is no vision says Proverbs, the people perish. Discover the purpose of God. Set clear goals; how much money do you want to make? Set it and write it down. What kind of relationships do you want to have? Set it and write it down. What do you want to achieve in terms of position and power this year? Set it and write it down. What house do you want to build? What cars do you want to buy? How do you want to help other people? How do you want to improve in aspects of your life? Write them and set them down and work purposely towards them. To fail to plan is to plan to fail. What do you want to achieve in 2020 for yourself, write it down. The Bible says; write the vision, set it down upon the post so that anybody that reads that vision will run with it.
- Live a peaceful life. No matter what happens to you, don’t get angry. Don’t get upset. Don’t react angrily. Don’t be unduly emotional. Maintain a stable dominion over your life and take time to find out where God is. In every situation, if you can find out where God is, no matter how painful, no matter how sorrowful, if you can find out what God is saying, God will give you peace. I want to tell somebody this day that God will give you peace.
- Look for an opportunity in every circumstance. Every circumstance has an opportunity inside of it. It may look bad, it may look dark, it may look horrible but there is an opportunity inside of it. The Bible says that when God created the earth in Genesis chapter 2, every seed, every fruit, every tree, he embedded inside the soil. The soil was dark and empty because it had not rained over the earth. But inside of that soil, that dark and empty soil, that soil of death and depression were great opportunities. Inside of every situation in your life, there are great opportunities. If you can open your eyes and see them, you will succeed; opportunity to do good, opportunity to make a difference, opportunity to bring joy, opportunity to make money, opportunity to be a blessing. Let the spirit of God be in you and people will look for you.
- Whatever your hand findeth to do, do it with all your might. Whatever your hand findeth to do, do it with all your energy. Whatever God brings your way, do it with everything that you have, and God will surprise you. Everything that you do, do as unto God. Do as unto God and not as unto men. The problem with people is that there is too much eye service. There is too much attempt at pleasing men. There is too much laziness and slothfulness. There is not enough care especially about other people’s business. When you work for others, you are actually working for yourself. Whatever your hand findeth to do, do it with all your might
- Have a fair and open and truthful mind to all, a fair and open and truthful mind to every single person that comes across your way. If you are fair, if you are open, if you have a truthful mind, God will fight for you, God will defend you, God will help you. And even if people seem to cheat you, they will not get away with it. Have a fair and open mind to everyone that comes along your way. Don’t speak evil of others. Nigerians tend to speak a lot of evil concerning other people. What the Bible says is that where two or three people are gathered there is a ‘G’ amongst them. The ‘G’ that the Bible says is ‘God’. But when you come to Nigeria, the ‘G’ that they have is ‘Gossip’. When two or three people are gathered, you are sure they are gossiping; gossiping about Pastor Ituah, gossiping about President Buhari, gossiping about Pastor Osibajo. This is not the year to gossip. What you know about you will gossip. What you don’t know about, you will gossip. What they didn’t tell you, you will gossip. What you didn’t see, you will gossip. What you are not sure about, you will gossip. This is not the year to gossip. Don’t gossip this year. Tell the truth. Be fair. Be open to everyone. What you cannot say in front of somebody, don’t say it behind them. What you cannot say when they are there, don’t say it behind them.
This is the year to pray crazily. This year, you are going to pray. And you are going to pray like you’ve never prayed before because God is about to answer your prayer. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:6 “in the morning, sow your seed, in the evening, don’t withhold your hand:” because you don’t know which of your prayers God will answer, either this one or that one. Or maybe all your prayers God will answer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says to pray without ceasing.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2: 10 KJV
What will make the year 2020 happy?
What are the things that we need to do?
If we don’t do these things, the year will
just be like any other year, because what the Bible says in Genesis 28:22 is that
God promises that while the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, cold and
heat, summer and winter, day and night do not cease. So God has guaranteed that
things will continue as they continued every year. But what will make this year
different is not what God does, but what you will do to make sure that this
year truly goes your way. No earthly year contains any magic or portends to be
different from the other years. God will make all things work according to the
time of life. The sun will still shine, the rain will fall, there will be
winter, summer, spring, the moon will come out, the flowers will bloom, people
will be born, and people will die, there will be accidents and there will be
crashes, armed robbers won’t disappear, thieves will still operate, some will
make money, some will lose money, some will marry, some will divorce, sickness
will not disappear neither will success fail. There might be slight differences
here and there, but the earth will continue in its cause. But what will make
the year happy, progressive and successful are the things that you will do.
What are the things that we must contract to do as we turn into a new year?
- You must know your God and serve him well. This year 2020 is not a year to joke with God and to joke with the things of God. David said to Solomon in 1 Chronicles 28:9, he says Solomon my son, know the God of your father, serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. If you seek God, he will be found of you. This is the year that you must know your God and serve him well. Know your God this year. This year 2020, know your God and serve him well. That’s why He said to Jerom, if God heals you, what are you going to do for him. Don’t let it be a point of pain, a point where you are being harassed before you start to know your God and serve him well
- Fear him, love him, and obey his commandments. Psalm 128 says “blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, that worketh in his ways. You will eat the labour of your hands, happy you will be and it shall be well with you.” Fear God, love him, obey his commandments. We know that all things work together for good for them that love God, for them that are called according to his purpose. If you love God, everything in 2020 will work together for your good. Obey God. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 - And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”

We are all hoping for a better 2020,
much better than 2019, and I pray that by the sound of the numbers 2020, it
will be a year of perfect vision. It will be a year of rounded blessings. It
will be a year of accelerated speed. It will be a year of great increase in the
name of Jesus Christ. 2019 was a very strange year. A year that even the Queen
of England said was a little bit bumpy. And what was a little bit irritating or
annoying to me was that towards the end of the year, it tends to claim a lot of
people, most of them very young, under the age of 40. Somehow, the year swept a
few people away. I want to decree and declare that 2019 has done its worst,
2020 will be a year of compensation, a year of encouragement, a year when God
will wipe away our tears, a year where God will recover you, a year where God
will restore you, a year where God will lift you up, a year where God will say
I’m proud of you. Everybody that has shed tears in the year 2019, the Lord will
wipe away your tears himself. Everybody that has lost someone or something in
the year 2019, the Lord will encourage you. The Lord will put his hands into
the eyes of the devil and he will pluck the eyes out and he will rescue our
children and it shall be well with us.
A lot of people come to Church on the
last day of the year. Some have not been in Church in a long time. Some are
coming maybe for the first time. Let me tell you, let this not be your last
time in Church. It is not what you do once, but what you do consistently over
time that causes your change. Today, God will bring you a new change. Some of
us are in church thinking – ‘if I start
my year with prayer, maybe God will answer my prayers. Church is a holy place.
It’s a place of protection. If I start in church, I am protected for the rest
of the year.’
It’s best to start on a right footing.
It’s not how you start but how you end that is important. There is no point
starting in church and not continuing in Church and in fellowship with the Holy
Spirit. There is no point starting well, and then abandoning the cause midway
or midyear. There is no point starting in church only to go back to your old
ways; worldly music, champagne, alcohol, fornication, adultery, lying,
wickedness. If you go back to your old ways, nothing will change. If you go
back to your old ways, the old ways will stay with you. It’s not the once-in-a-year
visit to church that makes a transformation. It’s a consistent fellowship with
God and fellowship with the people of God that brings a steady change.
We have said so much about the dangers
of sin, the dangers of wrong thinking. A lot of people think sin is an offence
to God but the real meaning of sin is doing something that will damage your own
life. That is what sin is. Not necessarily an offence to God. So a lot of us
say, well God doesn’t mind a little bit of sin. It has nothing to do with God
but it has everything to do with you. Sin is something that damages your own
life. And because you don’t see the damage immediately does not mean that the
damage has not been done. My prayer is that God will help us in the year 2020. God
will stand by us in the year 2020. God will make this year a wonderful year.
God will make this New Year a delightsome year. God will make this year an
extraordinary year and God will make it a happy new year.

What should your resolution be?
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8: 28 – 30 KJV
Each yeah people do resolutions at the beginning of the year. Typically, when people do resolution it is about what they want God to do for them. But resolutions should be about what God wants from us and that is total obedience. If you can find out what God wants from you and you can key into it, then our life would be one of great joy.
More often than not we lack understanding of what God wants from us and what we want. We need to discover for ourselves where God is and His position in every situation, we find ourselves. We need to ask ourselves some questions;
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8: 28 KJV. If we take our time to understand the scripture, we would understand the mind of God. Even the early Christians were faced with challenges we faced today in their walk with Christ. When bad things happened to the early Christians even after giving their life to Christ; Paul made them understand that all things work together for the good of all that rely on and trust God.
Everything we go through in life is pre-planned; whether we are justified or not, whether the person is good or bad; in every situation there is something good and a lesson to be gotten from it.
A person without Christ find it difficult for him/her to conform to the will and image of Christ. It is tough but can be easy if we focus on the one thing – the love of God. The key is to find this God and love Him in truth and unconditionally. Focus on God and on where we are going in life. There are so many distractions around us and if we allow ourselves to be held up by the distraction life would become difficult.
Our new year resolution should be to focus on God and on the things that would reflect the nature of God to the world. In the book of Romans 8:31 Apostle Paul said, “What do we then say, if God be for us who can be against us?” If you love God key into the purpose of His will for you.
